St Dominic’s Parish was constituted on the 1st July 1985 from St. Mary’s Priory, Tallaght. The church opened in 1975 and after a complete refurbishment it was dedicated in 1999.
St Dominic’s is one of three parishes in the care of the Dominicans in the Tallaght area. It is a thriving centre with a very significant degree of lay involvement. It is situated south of Tallaght village and off the N81.

The ministry of the friars assigned to St Dominic’s involves typical parish ministry, i.e. celebrations of Mass, reconciliation, baptism, marriage and the anointing of the sick. Hospital ministry, ministry to the dying and bereaved, marriage preparation, school chaplaincy and school management are also an integral part their ministry.
